Two things:
(1) IN a recent comments thread, two comments left under different names (one by "Mike" and one by "Nate) have been traced back to the same IP address. Given the similarity of the authorial voice, I'm pretty sure they're the same person. I have no problem with anonymous or pseudonymous commenting or blogging, but I do ask that if you choose to blog anonymously, you refrain from "sock puppetry". Not only does it create the false impression that multiple people are advocating the same position, but it makes it confusing when trying to follow the logic of a comment thread.
(2) In the comments to a recent blog post about Phylicia Rashad, someone claiming the name "Ce-Ce" posted a comment that I am 99.8% sure is written in a fake "Black English" patois meant to mock African Americans. I did my best to track down the real identity of the poster and have not been able to, still I'm pretty sure upon reading the comment a few times that this was the purpose of the comment.( I am also fairly sure that now that i've written drawing attention to it, the same commenter will again comment on this blog post in a similar mock-"urban" voice to claim that I am wrong.) I have deleted the comment. If the person who wrote the comment believes I deleted it in error, please do not post a comment to this site. Please e-mail me at parabasisnyc at gmail dot com.
Thank you all very much for your continued reading of and commenting to this site. I really appreciate having commenters regardless of viewpoint. but every now and then its necessary to do a few maintenance things to keep conversation going.
