I wanted to see that and it played for like a second and a half in Seattle...
Juliette Binoche is my favorite French actress. If you want to see a gem by her, rent "Lovers on the bridge" ( stupid translated titles...), one of her first films.

I saw both the Piano Teacher and Time of the Wolf and I'd recommend seeing them both.
Time of the Wolf is very dark though and that was difficult to watch at home on dvd .Would be better in a theater.
I'd agree with you that his plots are generally weak. But it's all on purpose of course :
