amen brother.
i have a tumor in my head. i am an artist. i currently have no health insurance. w/out insurance my meds are $365 a month. for 8 pills. yes, 8 pills. if i get a 'real' job, i can get benefits to pay (pfizer/upjohn) for the meds. but then i can't be a full time artist. if i get part time work or full time work as an artist, then i get SOME medical coverage, but don't make enough to pay for the meds. alternatively, i can buy the meds for 1/2, online, from canada. (at least i used to be able to).
so, personally, i take this personal responsibility thing pretty seriously. i pay taxes. i ride the subway. i recycle. i save the whales. w/out sounding like a whiney 'artist', where's my freakin 'take your poor, female artist to the doctor day'?
GE can bite me.
just for that, i'm buying a different brand of light bulbs.

I agree -- our values have gotten all out of whack. The Constitution focuses on "life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness" -- it doesn't say anything about "life, security, and the pursuit of lots of cheap stuff." The Bush Administration is focused on security, and is willing to sacrifice freedom to get it -- we need to counter that.
