I've noticed that many bloggers in the arts community have been defending the content of Bill Henson's exhibit. I find it slightly disturbing that they don't see what is wrong with taking photographs of nude children in sexual poses. My major issue is not so much with the final product, but with what had to occur in order to create this "art." A child not only had to play the role of sexual object, but had to do so for a grown man.
I don't see this as very much different from Gregor Schneider's dying dog exhibit. No art should require the artist to put his/her subject through pain or emotional distress.
